A legacy of quality since 1886.
CEO
Anton Huml began his painting career in Chicago, Illinois, where he specialized in painting horse carriages. In 1886, he relocated to Lake Geneva and established his own painting business. Around 1900, his eldest son, Carl, joined the enterprise, marking the transition to A.Huml & Son.
Following Anton’s passing, Carl took over the business, initially managing it alone before partnering with his youngest brother, Lawrence. In 1947, Lawrence bought out Carl's share and led the company independently until his son, John (known as Jack), became a partner in 1959. Jack assumed full ownership in 1972 and continued until his initial retirement in 1979.
In 1985, Jack and his son Matt revitalized the company, co-managing it until 1998. In 2002, Antonio Rosas was hired by Matt as a painter, and by 2015, Matt and Antonio had become business partners. Matt retired in 2018, at which point Antonio became the sole proprietor of A.Huml & Son.
Throughout its history, A.Huml & Son has undertaken significant projects, including painting the Yerkes Observatory on three occasions and the original Wrigley estate, along with numerous other prestigious estates around Geneva Lake.
